Foliant privacy policy

The short version

Foliant does not collect, store on external servers, share, or monetize any personal data. It operates with zero user accounts, zero analytics trackers, and zero third-party advertising SDKs.

Where your reading data lives

The documents you open and any bookmarks, highlights, reading progress, and flashcards you create remain stored exclusively on your device, in the browser's IndexedDB storage. Nothing is uploaded to a remote server.

Network activity

The application only accesses the network to download its initial assets or check for Progressive Web App updates. None of your files or reading logs are transmitted.

Deleting your data

Because everything stays locally on your device, deleting the app or clearing browser site storage instantly wipes all documents and metadata.
